Who taught you what Love is? People misuse Love everyday and still believe they are Loving. What does Love look like? Often what people express about Love is a low form of Love. People say they feel loved, however, Love is more than an emotion. Don't get me wrong, I am not an expert on Love, but I do know what Love is not:
Love doesn't quit!
Love doesn't care for itself more than others.
Love doesn't want what it doesn't have.
Love doesn't strut,
Doesn't have a swelled head,
Doesn't force itself on others,
Isn't always "me first,"
Doesn't fly off the handle,
Doesn't keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn't revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end.
So, next time you tell someone you Love them, remember...
|Those of us who are strong and able in the faith need to step in and
lend a hand to those who falter, and not just do what is most convenient
for us. Strength is for service, not status. Each one of us needs to
look after the good of the people around us, asking ourselves, "How can I
One final word of counsel, friends. Keep a sharp eye out for those who
take bits and pieces of the teaching that you learned and then use them
to make trouble. Give these people a wide berth. They have no intention
of living for our Master Christ. They're only in this for what they can
get out of it, and aren't above using pious sweet talk to dupe
It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude
(unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God's love in us) does
not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not
self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no
account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong]. [I Corinthians 13 AMP]
If you're a hard worker and do a good job, you deserve your pay; we
don't call your wages a gift. But if you see that the job is too big for
you, that it's something only God can do, and you trust him to do
it—you could never do it for yourself no matter how hard and long you
worked—well, that trusting-him-to-do-it is what gets you set right with
God, by God. Sheer gift.
